A Wordle document for Only a Pawn in their Game lyrics.

This has been used to help students focus on the key words, to enable them to study the language used. The lyrics were put into Wordle, the resulting image was used to instigate discussions about the language used.

These are two assessments I have used, please find also the mark scheme for them also. I gave the students the mark schemes to enable them to achieve their best in the assessments.

This Powerpoint was used to show the reality of ‘Lynching’, as students saw the term as rather neutral. There are some unusual images showing children directly invilved and one of a Married woman murdered. Once again use this resource with caution.

This NBC site has some really useful video clips here, it is a shame that they cannot be embedded into another site, or copied, but they can easily be shown on a whiteboard. The clips are grouped in chronological order, making this a useful resource for independent research, I also like to transcript function, which students will find useful for quotes
